Subordinate discreetly gave birth to a child for tech tycoon Elon Musk’s aim of having a full soccer team and inheriting a trillion-dollar wealth

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has welcomed a third child with Shivon Zilis, the project director at his brain chip company, Neuralink.

Musk and Zilis previously had twins in December 2021 through in vitro fertilization. On June 21, Bloomberg reported that Musk secretly had another child with Zilis earlier this year.

On June 23, Musk confirmed the news to Page Six, stating that it was not a secret since all his friends and family were aware.

The exact number of Musk’s children remains somewhat unclear. Reportedly, he has 12 children in total, including six with his first wife, Justine Wilson (whose first son sadly died at 10 weeks old), three with artist Grimes, and three with Zilis.

Musk is one of the founding figures and the CEO of Neuralink, a company focused on brain-computer technology. Zilis, a prominent figure in Musk’s ventures, is originally from Canada. She began her career at IBM before joining the investment fund Bloomberg Beta and was recognized in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the venture capital category in 2015.

Zilis met Musk at OpenAI, which he co-founded in 2015, where she was the youngest board member. In 2017, she transitioned to Tesla as a project manager, working on AI for self-driving cars and chip design. She later became the executive director of special projects at Neuralink.

The announcement of their third child came just a week after the Wall Street Journal published a report about Musk’s “borderline relationships” with subordinates. This included an allegation from a former SpaceX employee who claimed Musk repeatedly asked her to have his child; when she refused, she was allegedly denied a raise and eventually left the company with a severance package exceeding $1 million.

Musk has often voiced concerns about declining birth rates, labeling them a significant threat to human civilization. He has encouraged his friends to have more children and, upon the news of Zilis’ twins, expressed on X that he was “doing his best to help combat the population crisis.”
