Taylor Swift Donates $250,000 to Kansas City Education Center
Recently, Taylor Swift, 35, known for her hit albums “1989” and “reputation,” raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for “Operation Breakthrough,” which her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, 35, has been actively supporting.
In late December, an organization that works to improve education for children in Kansas City thanked Swift on X (formerly Twitter) for her $250,000 donation with a video dedicated to Swift for making the holiday season brighter for kids.
“Your kindness and generous donation of $250,000 means so much to our kids and our family,” they added in the video’s caption.
The video opens with a little girl saying, “Thank you, Ms. Taylor!” and makes a heart with her fingers. Then there’s a scene of Legos placed in the shape of Swift’s face on a white sheet of paper, and a child holding a sign that reads “Thank you.”
Other kids and teens thank the singer throughout the video, like a boy wearing a red Kansas City Chiefs cap saying, “Thank you, Taylor, we all love you.” The video ends with a girl thanking Swift for “making all our wildest dreams come true.”
The organization is a favorite of Kelce, and he shared some stats from his work with Operation Breakthrough in early December, like how they help 400 students a year thanks to donations from him and others. They’ve also been able to open 10 labs and teach nearly two dozen industry skills to students thanks to donations.
The 14-time Grammy winner has supported her boyfriend’s work not only off the field, but also during the game. Swift attended the Chiefs vs. Houston Texans game on December 21.
Swift showed up to support her boyfriend at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium, wearing a long red Charlotte Simone winter coat and black pants, paired with a matching fur hat. It was her first game since November 29.
Swift recently wrapped up her “The Eras Tour,” which has grossed more than $2 billion in ticket sales. Her final show was in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8.
After the tour ended, the Chiefs quarterback threw a surprise party for the musician to celebrate the success of the tour, which kicked off in March 2023 and will visit dozens of major cities around the world.
Kelce wore an outfit from Swift’s 11th studio album “Tortured Poets Department” (released in April), while she wore a black dress with silver detailing. He also gave her a hat with the number “22” (the title of one of Swift’s songs on “Red”), recreating a favorite concert moment when she gives a hat to a young audience member at each stop.
Partygoers wore light-up wristbands and friendship bracelets scattered around the tables to coordinate with the Eras Tour-inspired outfits.
