Pop star Taylor Swift, 35, quietly donated a large sum of money to families in need ahead of Christmas.
“Thank you Taylor Swift for making our holidays brighter! Your kindness and thoughtful donation of $250,000 means so much to our children and families,” Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City-based education organization, announced via X on December 21.
The post also included a video of several children thanking Taylor Swift for her support.
Since the Grammy-winning singer wrapped up her The Eras Tour in late November, she has spent much of her free time helping others.
Earlier this month, she visited a children’s hospital in Kansas City with her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The Lover singer took the time to take photos with the children and chat with them.
Taylor Swift’s kindness and philanthropy dates back many years. In 2019, the Shake It Off singer donated $113,000 to the LGBTQ community in Tennessee. In 2020, she also donated $13,000 to two mothers facing eviction amid the. Earlier this year, Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to the family of a mother who died at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade. Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, 35, followed suit with his own donation to two injured children.
Taylor Swift’s $5 million donation in October 2024 was used to provide clean water and essentials to those affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene, helping communities rebuild and recover from the storms, according to the CEO of the charity Feeding America.
