Strictly’s Katya Jones and Wynne Evans share a cake and give piggybacks as they joke around in training and continue to insist all is well after THAT live show incident

Strictly’s Katya Jones and Wynne Evans shared a cake on Wednesday as the duo joked around in training and continued to put on a united display and insist all is well between them.

The opera singer, 52,  also gave the professional dancer, 35, a piggyback as they enjoyed a mountain walk together in Wales.

The pair have come under fire after defending an awkward exchange during Saturday’s show, when Katya moved his hand away from her waist and snubbed a high-five.

Both Wynne and Katya insisted the ‘hand incident’ was the result of an unexplained ‘in-joke’, with the BBC later confirming ‘Katya was not offended’ and the ‘welfare and production teams have checked in’ with them both.

Despite the controversy, the pair seem to be in high spirits as they prepare to take to the dancefloor again this week.

Domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid chimed in on the debate and have slammed the BBC following the ‘hand grope’ scandal.

In a statement to The Sun, they said: ‘With an epidemic of misogyny and violence against women and girls in the UK, we need a media culture where women feel safe to speak up, where sexually inappropriate conduct is not trivialised or joked about.

‘It’s important we challenge inappropriate ‘jokes’ so we don’t continue normalising toxic attitudes that cultivate these forms of gender-based abuse.’
