According to Forbes, Taylor Swift has now surpassed Rihanna to become the richest female artist in the United States.
Recently, Forbes updated the real-time net worth of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, currently at $1.6 billion as of October 6, 2024.
Taylor Swift has surpassed Rihanna (net worth $1.4 billion) to rise to No. 1 on the list of America’s richest female artists.
The “Fortnight” singer was recognized by Forbes as a billionaire in October 2023 with a net worth of about $1.1 billion. Notably, Taylor Swift became a billionaire thanks only to revenue from The Eras Tour and other musical activities.
Forbes emphasized that Taylor Swift is the first artist to enter the billionaire ranking based mainly on music composition and performance activities.
Her fortune doesn’t come from lucrative side hustles (beauty brands, fashion brands, wine investments, etc.), which have been the typical paths for entertainers to become billionaires in recent years.
Taylor Swift’s current fortune has grown to $1.6 billion, including nearly $600 million accumulated from royalties and touring, and an estimated $600 million in music catalogs.
Her Eras Tour set a record in December 2023, becoming the first tour to gross more than $1 billion in ticket sales, according to Pollstar. The tour is expected to gross more than $2 billion by the end of the year.
In April, Taylor Swift released her latest album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which has 31 songs, the streaming record set by her own album “Midnights” in 2022.
