Taylor Swift emerges victorious in her ongoing dispute with Kanye West as she ends his streak of Billboard number one albums… amid their longstanding con𝔣lict originating from the infamous MTV incident
Taylor Swift wins the Kanye West feud when she breaks his record for the longest running number one album on the Billboard 200. The feud started years ago with an event on MTV that became famous.
It’s over for Kanye West’s 11-week run of number one albums. His album Vultures 2 with Ty Dolla Sign launched in second place, behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.
News on Sunday from TMZ said that West, 47, stopped a long string of wins with his latest album.
West’s career has been going downhill since the fall of 2022 because of all the antisemitic things he has said. On Sunday, Billboard stated that the album sold about 107,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
Billboard said that this was West’s 13th record to reach one of the top two spots on the chart.
This week, Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” put her at the top of the charts with 142,000 comparable album units sold in the U.S. during the week ending August 8.
