Taylor Swift felt ‘amazing and powerful’ as she stormed onto the stage at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool on Friday for the latest leg of her Eras Tour.

The 34-year-old pop icon has been struggling to adjust to the cold weather in the UK, having kicked off that leg of her Eras tour with three sold-out shows in Scotland last week.

But the sun was finally shining for Taylor and thousands of her fans, who seemed upbeat ahead of the show.

Taylor wowed in a shimmering red plunging blazer, holding a guitar, before changing her outfit ten times.

She told the crowd, “Liverpool, you just made me feel so amazing.” That was really cool and has gotten into my head. You have made me feel very powerful.

The audience erupted as she opened the show with Cruel Summer, then sang The Man and Calm Down.

Her surprise song for the show was a mashup of This Is What You Came For and Gold Rush.

Taylor also performed a stripped-back version of Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ This Is What You Came For during the show.

Taylor admitted to having a’sniffly nose’ during her Liverpool gig on Thursday before introducing the night’s surprise song.

The singer has been struggling to adjust to the cold weather in the UK, where she began the leg of her Eras tour with three sold-out shows in Scotland last week.

The Pennsylvania-born star wiped her nose with a tissue and smiled, assuring the audience, ‘We’ll be fine. I can do it with a sniffling nose. That’s fine.

The Bad Bld hitmaker then took to the piano, where she surprised fans with an unpcted medley of Cornelia Street and Maroon.

Fans rushed to comment on the video on TikTok, echoing the singer: ‘I can do it with a sniffly nose it’s fine’;’say with me “I CAN DO WITH A SNIFFLY NOSE”‘; ‘I can’t believe I haven’t seen 5,000 tweets about “I can do it with a sniffly nose”‘.

‘She totally saw people tell her to get a tissue,’ wrote another user, referring to Taylor blowing her nose into her fingers several times before wiping them on her sparkly outfit during the Edinburgh gig.

As part of the first leg of her UK tour, the singer performed three shows at Murrayfield Stadium last weekend in front of over 219,000 people.

Though summer is just over a week away, the cool air in the stadium likely didn’t help the singer’s cause, as temperatures dropped below eight degrees Celsius on the night of the concert.

Some have blamed the incident on the cold temperatures, after the pop star was seen clearing her nose of snot while performing the hit song ‘Don’t Blame Me’.

In the video, the singer blows a stream of snot into her hands, allowing it to drip down before wiping it on her skirt.

Some fans have accused the pop sensation of flicking the mucus at her fans as she braced for the nose-reddening temperatures.

While some were sympathetic, many people took to social media to express their disgust at seeing the pop star spit out strings of snot.

According to one user, Taylor Swift blew her nose and snot on her skirt on stage. Fans also noticed Taylor licking snot from her nose at one point.

A second was completely disgusted: ‘Someone please give Taylor Swift some tissues, the amount of times I’ve seen her wipe her nose with her hands in the last few days is ane. I understand she is performing, but there must be a way to ensure she always has access to tissues.

 

 

The stadium’s seating and standing areas were completely sold out, with an estimated 73,000 fans descending on the rugby stadium and events venue each night.

However, some defended her, with one writing: ‘I’m not even a Swiftie, but I seriously don’t understand why anyone would be offended or disgusted by someone wiping their nose. Like, really? What was she suppose to do? “I’m guessing she didn’t have a tissue right there, but at least she didn’t want her face covered with snot.”

Taylor’s three Edinburgh shows kicked off her UK tour, which will include nights in Cardiff and Liverpool, as well as eight nights at Wembley Stadium, where 720,000 people will attend just in London.

Taylor has already performed 53 shows in the United States, and she will return after the European leg to perform nine more in Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. She will perform 50 shows across 18 cities in Europe.Some devoted fans began queuing up a full 48 hours before the star arrived in the city for her tour, with a staggering 220,000 eagerly waiting for a glimpse and to purchase merchandise.

However, many people struggled to find lodging in Edinburgh because hotels were quickly booked despite tripling their rates during the megastar’s three-night residency from June 7 to 9.

Her Eras tour is expected to boost the British economy by nearly £1 billion.

In addition to the ticket price, fans will spend money on travel, lodging, a pre-concert meal, official merchandise, and, for many, a new outfit for the occasion.
