Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have been friends since the mid aughts, and it seems now they’re just about as close as family.

This summer, Swift put a funny message on her Instagram story supporting the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which stars Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds, and called herself the godmother of the couple’s children.

In her writing, she praised Wade Wilson, who is also known as “my godkids’ srm donor.” Wilson is Reynolds’ real name for the Deadpool character.

What about Lively? On August 6, she told Sheinelle Jones on TODAY that she finds Swift “deeply inspiring.”

“Taylor Swift did write that she is the godmother.” “People love it because they love you guys,” Sheinelle said.

Lively said, “Oh, that’s so sweet.”

What is it about Taylor that makes her stand out? Sheinelle asked.

“I mean, that’s deeply inspiring to talk about women of many kinds and women who know how to be both strong and vulnerable. A woman who knows how to step into herself and her story and show others what that looks like, and be an example of that and share yourself with people,” the actor said.

“That’s amazing to see someone do that in real life.” Now I know why so many people care about her so much. I care about her that much as a fan and as a friend besides.
