Shiloh, 18, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, decides to change her last name, distancing herself from her father after difficult experiences

Shiloh, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, decided to shed her father’s last name, according to a recent statement from her lawyers.

One of the six children of the ex-couple, the 18-year-old, submitted a name change application on May 27 of this year, her birthday. It was made known to the public by publishing a legal notice in the Los Angeles Times.

In a statement on behalf of the teenager, Shiloh’s attorney, Peter Levine, discussed the public name change, saying that the child “made an independent and significant decision following painful events,” and that she was “merely following legal process” when disclosing the information.

Levine added, according to People, “Shiloh Jolie did not take out a “ad” announcing any name change, or any inaccurate press reporting.”

“As Shiloh’s lawyer, I have to publish a legal notice because anyone wishing to change their name in California must do so by law.” As necessary, such legal notification was published in the Los Angeles Times.

The ex-couples also have a daughter, Zahara, 19, fraternal twins, Vivienne and Knox, 16, and boys, Maddox, 22, and Pax, 20.

Pitt has also been removed from Zahara and Vivienne’s names, though it’s not clear if Vivienne did so legally.

A recent story claims that Pitt has ‘almost no contact’ with his older children.

Pitt’s relationship with his older children is still tense, a source told People, one month after Shiloh requested to remove his last name.

He seldom ever interacts with the grown children. Due to his busy schedule, he hasn’t spent as much time with the younger children as he used to, the insider revealed.

After five years of marriage, Angelina filed for divorce from the star in 2019.

Their children seem to have taken sides in the bitter divorce that ruined their marriage.

Since the Tomb Raider actress sold her $64 million interest to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021, the two filmmakers have been embroiled in a nasty legal struggle over their French vineyard and home.

Later, they got into a contentious back and forth about NDAs, which has turned into a focal issue of their conflict.

In order to allow their family to “heal,” Jolie is now pleading with Pitt to “end the fighting” and to withdraw the lawsuit against her.

But insiders informed DailyMail.com that Jolie, who starred in Fight Club, ‘had no intention’ of abandoning it, saying she only made the plea after finding her case is not as strong as she had previously believed.

“Brad won’t be dropping this lawsuit—why would he?” This was a very typical commercial conflict, but regrettably, according to someone familiar with the circumstances, Angelina has been bringing up personal issues that belong in a divorce court.
