Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Continue to Navigate Divorce Proceedings After Eight Years

After eight years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still in the process of settling their divorce.

Before splitting up in September 2016, the former couple was among the most well-known in Hollywood. According to reports, they are “slowly approaching a divorce settlement.”

However, a source informed People that the divorce talks are “not done yet” and that “both sides are still talking.”

With the exception of their twins Knox and Vivienne, who will be 16 on Friday, the former Mr. and Mrs. Smith costars, who have six children together, are still in court over custody of their legally adult children. A judge deemed them to be legally single back in 2019.

Also, Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Pax, 20, and Shiloh, 18, are parents of the ex-partners.

For a response, DailyMail.com has reached out to the respective agents of Jolie and Pitt.

Pitt has ‘almost no communication’ with his elder children, a source told People earlier this week.

He seldom ever interacts with the grown children. Due to his busy schedule, he hasn’t spent as much time with the younger children as he used to, the insider revealed.

The source mentioned that the couple’s custody agreement permits them to see their two small children.

The insider said, “[Angelina] has the kids most of the time, but they agreed that he gets visitation with the younger kids.”

The actor is currently filming his new racing feature, F1, on location in Europe, while Jolie and their younger children reside in Los Angeles.

As per a June story, Pitt is ‘upset and aware’ that his daughter Shiloh applied to have her own last nаme removed upon turning eighteen.

He has ‘lost his children,’ according to a source close to the Oscar winner, who added that his removal from his daughter’s life is only another sign.

The former couple, who were one of Hollywood's most iconic couples before calling it quits in September 2016, are reportedly 'slowly approaching a divorce settlement' (Pitt seen in 2021)

The source asserted, “He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last nаme.” He has never been happier as he was the day she was born. He had always desired a daughter.

Notably, before Brad and his then-partner Angelina revealed she was expecting Shiloh in January 2006, Pitt was already in the legal adoption process for a girl who had been a part of his life for months.

In July 2005, Jolie had gone to Ethiopia to adopt her first child, Zahara, and Pitt had accompanied her.

A month before he and Jolie made her pregnancy public, in December 2005, it was reported that he was in the process of becoming Zahara’s adoptive father.

The source went on, “It’s obviously not easy for Brad to be reminded that he lost his children.” “He misses and loves his children.” It is quite depressing.

They continued by saying that Pitt “pains” about being apart from his six kids.

They did observe, though, that “he’s still happy with Ines [de Ramon],” his present partner.

The journal was informed by a another person who was said to be close to Pitt that the Tree of Life actor “still loves all of his kids tremendously.”

“The entire family has found this process to be extremely difficult,” they continued.

Still, a source told People that 'both sides are still talking' and their divorce negotiations are 'not done yet' (pictured in 2015)

Shiloh will now go by only “Shiloh Jolie” instead of her original full nаme, “Shiloh Jolie-Pitt,” if her request is approved, which it appears it will be.

Previously, it was alleged that Vivienne Pitt’s youngest daughter, who assisted her mother in producing the Broadway musical adaption of The Outsiders, had written her nаme on the playbill as “Vivienne Jolie.”

Although it’s unclear if Vivienne has changed her nаme officially, the youngster would probably require permission from her parents or exceptional circumstances to be able to alter her nаme before reaching 18.

Shiloh filed to have Pitt removed from her last nаme last month.

Zahara, their older sister, had previously gone by “Zahara Marley Jolie” when she joined the Spelman College Mu Pi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha late last year.

Maddox and Pax, Pitt and Jolie’s eldest sons, have allegedly not used their father’s last nаme in public for years and have been openly hоstile to him.

Shortly after Pitt and his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston announced their divorce in 2005, the two started dating in the public eye.

Despite having several adopted and biological children together, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-stars stayed single for a long time until getting engaged in 2012 and being married in 2014.

Nonetheless, the Maleficent actress didn’t file for divorce until around two years later, in 2016. In 2019, she and Pitt were officially proclaimed single.

But for years afterward, the two celebrities have been involved in a protracted legal dispute about custody and money.

One of the main concerns appears to be a well-known private jet altercation from 2016.

Jolie accused Pitt of beating her physically in a 2016 flight to California, according to an FBI report on the event that was released in 2022. She said that during an apparent argument about their children, he grabbed her by the head, shook her, and then threw her down because he was Ԁrunk.

Jolie said to the FBI that Pitt had told the kids that she was going to leave the family and that he had struck the airplane ceiling four times.

At one time, she said, he spilled bееr on her and the cover she was lying under while she had many kids.

Although they acknowledged that Pitt had been drinking, sources close to the actor later stated that he had never physically abused any of the kids.
