The BBC has faced outrage after showing disrespect to Cristiano Ronaldo during Portugal’s win over Slovenia in the last 16 of EURO 2024.

 

In the 105th minute, Ronaldo’s penalty kick was blocked by goalkeeper Jan Oblak, thereby missing the opportunity to put Portugal ahead. CR7 burst into tears right after the first extra time ended. At this time, BBC had a disrespectful move towards Ronaldo.

 

While the commentators were analyzing the missed penalty, BBC suddenly parodied Ronaldo’s name by showing the words “Misstiano Penaldo” on the left corner of the screen.
