A Step Up for Ryan Reynolds’ “Vasectomy Cocktail”: “Because I Keep Having Kids”

The father of four and creator of Aviation American Gin is back with his Vasectomy Cocktail, which he markets around Father’s Day.

With his Vasectomy Cocktail, Ryan Reynolds is back, and hopefully this time it will work.

Reynolds creates a unique version of his trademark Vasectomy Cocktail, which he has been promoting for Father’s Day the past few years, in a new humorous spot for the actor’s Aviation American Gin.

He opens the video with a reference to his Marvel series, saying, “It’s Father’s Day and because somehow I keep having kids, this year we’re going to take our annual Vasectomy up a notch with Aviation Gin: Deadpool Edition.”

Reynolds, who is married actress Blake Lively and has four children total—Betty, 4, Ines, 7, James, 9, and an unnamed one-year-old—showed how to prepare the humorous drink.

The first step is to take an ice-filled glass and add one ounce of cranberry juice to it. After that, you should add three ounces of tonic,” he states. Then, glancing at the glass, he remarks, “Oh, that’s Betty Buzz.” “I wonder what other surprises are in store,” he said, alluding to the bubbly drink brand his wife owns.

He pointed to a lemon and added, “Next you’re going to grab this little yellow guy and you’re going to give it a squeeze.”

The serene tutorial alternates between combat sequences from Deadpool & Wolverine, which stars Reynolds’ buddy and co-star Hugh Jackman and opens in theaters on July 26.

He quipped, “If you get a couple of seeds in there, well, you know you’re doing it right,” before whispering, “How many kids do you have?” to the lemon.

Next, it was time to pour in 1.5 ounces from an Aviation American Gin: Deadpool Edition bottle that had been specially created. Reynolds jokes, “It’s the same delicious Aviation Gin, but with 100% more Deadpool.”

Using a long cocktail spoon, he stirs it one last time before adding a twisted lemon peel as a garnish.

“There you have it, Deadpool Vasectomy. Fits in well with two fathers over forty, acting as though they haven’t had too much arthritis to carry off a superhero film,” he quips.

A sequence featuring the two parents in question, Reynolds and Jackman, square off in their next movie concludes the video. He greets everyone with a “Happy Father’s Day.”

The gin company is selling six limited-edition Deadpool bottles for $25 at stores across the country, catering to the needs of ardent Deadpool fans while supplies last.

A star of The Proposal, Nick Cannσn, has fathered twelve children. In 2022, the two mixed up the Vasectomy Cocktail. He only had eight at the moment of the video.

“Lord knows I need one,” Cannσn said, going over the process before pouring himself a glass.

Throughout, the Wild ‘n Out actor hinted to the pleasures of being a dad, mentioning how much sleep he gets—a “full night’s sleep.”

He said, “And that looks like a delicious Vasectomy,” at the conclusion of the amusing procedure, just as Reynolds entered the camera to take a sip.

He joked, “While delicious, the Aviation Vasectomy is clearly not yet 100% effective,” and hashtagged it with “#HappyFathersDay.”

Jessie James Decker and collaborators revisited “The Vasectomy” in 2023. With her husband Eric Decker, she has since welcomed her fourth child.

Reynolds subsequently cut into the picture, grabbed the gin bottle, and remarked, “You know those don’t actually work, right?” as Jessie prepared the ingredients for her husband.
