Blake Lively Embraces Boldness with Maximalist Floral Logo Suit, Redefining the Notion of Quiet Luxury

Blake Lively Makes a Statement with Maximalist Floral Logo Suit, Embracing Bold Luxury with Style

Since the beginning of 2023, the quiet luxury trend—characterized by subdued hues and minimalist design devoid of logos—has been all the rage in fashion. Blake Lively responded to the maximalist counterargument last night by donning a Chanel outfit plastered in the brand.

Attending Chanel’s Tribeca Film Festival dinner on Monday, June 10, Lively delivered a spectacular critique of everything that is considered “quiet.” “Luxury” remained a prominent topic of discussion, given that she wore an entirely Chanel ensemble.

The It Ends With Us actress wore a matched combination that included flowing pants and a double-breasted coat from Chanel’s Spring 2023 runway. The French label’s double-C emblem was emblazoned all over both pieces in 𝖍ot pink, turquoise, and yellow hues. Enormous flowers punctuated the alphabetic print in a painterly manner.

Lively, who often fashions herself, accessorized her must-have outfit with glowy makeup (also by Chanel) and long, flowing waves split to one side.

Star-studded participants had the opportunity to either completely defy their clothing habits or Chanel-ify their personal style at Monday’s gala celebrating the annual Tribeca Film Festival. Katie Holmes sat a few tables away from Lively, decked up in a glitter-coated, see-through Chanel lace skirt set. Hannah Einbinder from Hacks, Olivia Munn, and Camila Mendes were among the other guests.

The evening’s ensembles, which included Lively’s printed set and Holmes’s subtle lace, functioned as a sort of farewell to former Chanel design director Virginie Viard. After more than 30 years with the house and five years in the job, Viard announced last week that she was leaving Chanel, a move that sparked discussion throughout the fashion world. An heir has not yet been announced by the label. The majority of attendees at the event yesterday night wore runway styles created during Viard’s reign.

Returning to Blake Lively: The actress is kind of on a maximalist k𝔦ck right now, what with the pearl-coated nud𝔢 outfits she wore for her next film A Simple Favor 2 and the mermaid-inspired sequin gown she wore around New York last month. It stands in stark contrast to the subdued, elegant designs that typically dominate runways and street style, from Max Mara to Ferragamo. Designers have eschewed ostentatious logos and motifs in favor of subtler styling in recent shows, suggesting that luxury is more of a mindset than an overt style.

But the tide is shifting back in favor of trademarks like the ones on Lively’s Chanel outfit. Searches for Bella Hadid’s micro short skort with Gucci logo belt increased by 18% last week, according to @databutmakeitfashion. Jennifer Lopez has also been seen wearing a good number of things with overtly branded Dior, Gucci, and Hermès clothing recently.

It’s hardly s𝖍ocking to see Lively criticize popular trends because she has been dressing herself with pride for a number of years. She clarified, “I just like it,” in a prior interview with WWD. I adore fashion and design because they allow me to express my creativity.”
