Fans reacted as Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo rewrote the Saudi Pro League scoring books in the 4-2 league win at home to Al-Ittihad on Monday (May 27). Ronaldo starred with a brace in the season finale.

The 39-year-old opened the scoring in the third minute of stoppage time before doubling his team’s lead midway through the second half. His 35th league goal of the season broke the previous mark for most strikes in a Saudi Pro League campaign.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb added further gloss to the scoreline before Al-Ittihad scored twice late on. Luis Castro’s side, though, restored their two-goal lead deep into stoppage time to end their league campaign with a win.

Meanwhile, fans went ga ga with Ronaldo breaking another record, with one tweeting:

“Breaking records like it’s his job””Water is wet, CR7 is GOAT,” chimed in another.

Similar reactions followed:

“Cristiano Ronaldo should be in the 2024 Ballon d’Or conversations. Nobody had ever done or will ever do what he’s doing at 39. The GOAT,” tweeted Uncle Wilson.

Sheikh Hammad said:

“Greatest Athlete of all time no one is close.

“Cristiano Ronldo competing against himself”

President Tochi chimed in:

“Ronaldo scored two tonight!! I knew he’ll do it. He never gives up. Had two offside goals too. Has looked very sharp today.”

Cris said:

“50 goals for Al-Nassr at the age of 39”

With the win, Ronaldo and Co. finished 14 points behind runaway champions Al-Hilal.
