The highly anticipated movie trailer for Blake’s adaptation of Colleen’s book dropped last week.

The author has already faced criticism for romanticizing domestic abuse in her book and for releasing a coloring book and nail polish that were drawn inspiration from it.

Blake, 36, portrays Lily Bloom, a woman who, prior to the return of her ex-boyfriend Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar, 32), embarks on a passionate, abusive relationship with Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni, 40).

Baldoni is the director of the August 9 release of the movie.

Although Blake and Taylor are well-known to be best friends, the song used in the movie’s teaser didn’t impress Swifties.

Taylor’s fans were quick to voice their disapproval of the song’s usage from her eighth studio album, Folklore, once the trailer was released.

“Delete, please, everyone is pleading with you to delete,” uttered one person.

Another person added, “A Taylor Swift song paired with a Colleen Hoover adaptation?

One user wrote, “Sorry, but a Taylor song isn’t going to make me watch a Colleen Hoover movie.” This statement sparked a lot of other individuals to make similar claims online.

“Same like sorry girl, I love myself too much for this,” commented another commenter.

Taylor’s admirers were eager to weigh in on the use of the singer’s song once the trailer was released.

‘Couldn’t even finish the trailer,’ said one critic.

In the past, a lot of people had nєgative opinions on the trailer, saying it revealed the whole narrative of the movie before it was released.

Before the two of them get along and start dating, the trailer opens with Lily meeting Ryle at her new flower store.

When the two embark on a date, things quickly get hσt and bothered.

Ryle says, “I want to see you again,” to Lily.

“You see me now,” she quips.

“You understand what I mean,” he answers.

But then Ryle shows a darker side.

Ryle is seen getting to his feet and slamming something into the ground during a heated exchange of words.

“I apologize so much,” he sincerely says to her thereafter.

However, Atlas then makes a comeback. A screen flashes back to their childhood friendship as Lily is depicted dashing into him.

‘Is that your guy?’ Atlas inquires, observing the man she is holding hands with.

Indeed. She answers, “That’s Ryle.”

When he asks Lily, “Do you love him?” at one point, Ryle seems wary of her.

She tells him, “I love you.”

Ryle answers, “That wasn’t my question.”

Ryle is asked a thought-provoking question by Lily: “If you had a daughter one day, what would you say to her?”

“She told you that the person she loved was harming her.” How would you respond to her?

“As hard as this choice is,” she muses over voiceover. We depart from the norm. else the pattern destroys us.

The novel It Ends With Us, which saw a spike in popularity in late 2021, served as the inspiration for the film.

August 9 is when It Ends With Us will be released.
