Since starting her global tour last month, the 27-year-old actress has received accolades for elevating method dressing to a whole new level.

Zendaya has honored the world of tennis in each and every one of her outfits, following in the footsteps of Margot Robbie, who used the Barbie theme throughout all of her red carpet ensembles to promote the Barbie movie last year.

However, each and every one of the fashion statements has come at a price; the most have cost tens of thousands of pounds more than £1000.

The American actress plays Tashi, a former player who is now a coach in the Friday-released movie. She gets entangled in a romantic triangle with two other professionals, Josh O’Connor, 33, and Mike Faist, 32, from The Crown.

Zendaya began her tour in Australia at the end of March. The £4,150 green sequined dress she wore had an outline of a tennis player and ball on it and was designed by Loewe.

She wore a vintage chequered Louis Vuitton coat ($5,250) and £645.00 Christian Louboutin pumps for the photocall.

She then donned a satin highlighter green suit ($1,800) and a purse ($1,800) from Louis Vuitton’s 1999 collection in Paris.

Wearing a £9,500 handmade Louis Vuitton gown, the actress embraced Wimbledon whites for the Paris premiere.

Zendaya spent £5,450 and wore a tennis dress by Loewe covered in sequins for a photocall in Rome. She accessorized the outfit with white pointed shoes that had little tennis balls on the heel.

She cost £600 and donned an all-white custom Calvin Klein suit for the premiere later that evening. She completed the ensemble with an eye-popping £86k Bulgari necklace.

The actress donned a handmade Thom Brown outfit featuring tennis racket designs for the Leicester Square London premiere. Her choice of shoes, Christian Louboutin pumps, brought the total cost of the ensemble to £12,805.

The tennis look is becoming popular on catwalks and inspiring other designers.

Lacoste’s AW24 designs paid homage to the traditional tennis uniform with pleated skirts and dresses in green hues, while Miu Miu’s SS24 collection featured polo shirts and matching skirts.

Naturally, the High Street has noticed. Athleisure labels like Varley and Sporty & Rich are presenting sophisticated interpretations of tennis-core, and Mango’s latest tennis club line features hats and cardigans with logos.

Although Law Roach, Zendaya’s stylist, has received recognition for his work with the actress this year, the two have collaborated since Zendaya was 14 years old and a Disney Channel star.

The stylist also styled her for the Dune premiere earlier this year, when Zendaya showed up in a robot costume designed by Thierry Mugler, which caused the couple to go viral once more.

In February, Mr. Roach stated in an interview with Vogue, “We adopted method dressing; the looks served as an extension of the movie’s wardrobe.” It had a clear objective and purpose.

“We buy from vintage dealers, not borrow from them.”

“Supporting smaller businesses is important.”

It’s now said that Mr. Roach and Zendaya are close friends—so close that he’s dressed her 27-year-old beau Tom Holland for a few of his premieres.

Mr. Roach styled him with Paul Smith for the February 2022 premiere of Unchartered by Holland.
