Rihanna is talking candidly about how her daily wardrobe has changed since becoming pregnant.

In an interview with PEOPLE on Friday night at the Fenty Beauty Universe Event in Los Angeles, the 33-year-old singer, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, said she has accepted both the positive and negative aspects of her newfound curves.

Playing with fashion when pregnant is “fun” but also “a challenge,” Rihanna told PEOPLE. “I like it.” It’s fun for me.”

“I’m enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy,” a “We Found Love” performer stated. “It doesn’t matter if I feel a little overweight! A baby is here!”

Additionally, Rihanna revealed that she feels most confident these days because of clothes. “At this point in your pregnancy, there are days when all you want to do is lie on this couch all day. However, you change when you put on a little lipstick and a face,” she said.

When A$AP Rocky, 33, and Rihanna were spotted out and about in New York City towards the end of last month, Rihanna showed off her growing baby bump while donning a long pink jacket. Her large coat came undone at the bottom, exposing her bump, which was encrusted with a gold cross and multicolored jewels.

In one of the adorable pictures, which were taken in Harlem, the neighborhood where A$AP Rocky grew up, the rapper gives the soon-to-be mother a forehead kiss while they stroll through the snow. After years of friendship, a source revealed to PEOPLE in November 2020 that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were dating.

PEOPLE was informed by a source shortly after the pictures that Rihanna is “excited to be a mom” and “couldn’t be happier.”

“Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea,” According to the insider, “she’s loving all the changes to her body during pregnancy and has always celebrated pregnant women in her runway shows for Fenty.”

Insiders saw the newest products from Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, such as the Fenty Icon Refillable Lipstick, as well as best-sellers like Fenty Eau de Parfum and Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum, at the Fenty Beauty Universe Event.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Rihanna listed a few of the Fenty Beauty items she regularly uses to finish off her personal looks. “[Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler] MVP is amazing. In addition, I adore Board Memb’r [lipstick] and Ballin’ Babe [lipstick]. That is my favorite; it has a more subdued burgundy tone. It’s my favorite,” she exclaimed.

A$AP Rocky wore a green and purple outfit that Rihanna coordinated, while other attendees included Tinashe, Evan Ross, Madison Beer, Michelle Young, and Nayte Olukoya.

However, Rihanna clarified that the identical ensembles were not prearranged. “I was unaware of his attire. She said to PEOPLE, “I didn’t even notice him. “Like, he left the studio to come here.”

“We always experience that,” the Grammy Award winner continued. “We get dressed in completely separate [areas] across the house and we leave looking coordinated somehow.”
