In addition to scoring a brace, Cristiano Ronaldo selflessly concedes a penalty to Sadio Mane to assist Al-Nassr advance to the King’s Cup of Champions final.
Cristiano Ronaldo demonstrated that he is not as egocentric as some might assume when he conceded Sadio Mane a penalty during Wednesday night’s match between Al-Nassr and Al-Khaleej.
Ronaldo, who was reinstated in the first leg subsequent to his dismissal last month against Al-Hilal, had already authored an outstanding opener for his team when they were granted a penalty kick in the dying moments of the initial half.
Although the Portuguese superstar is the designated penalty taker for Al-Nassr, he delegated the duty to a teammate in an attempt to bolster his confidence.
Ronaldo was overheard congratulating Mane in the background as the latter took the opportunity to extend the host team’s lead with a deft finish.
A swiveling left-footed finish by Ronaldo capitalised on a poor clearance from the goalkeeper, capping an ideal beginning to his return to action.

The 39-year-old then assisted Al-Nassr in advancing to the King’s Cup of Champions final with a close-range goal on his second of the match.
The tally brings Ronaldo’s total for the season across all competitions to 38, and he continues to demonstrate his goal-scoring prowess in advance of Euro 2024 this summer.
Portugal, led by Roberto Martinez, are among the heavy favorites to bring home the trophy in Germany.
In Portugal, however, there has been discussion regarding whether Ronaldo, at his age, should be a member of the squad.
