News of “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively’s marriage to her one-year boyfriend, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, surfaced late Friday night. In a private ceremony, they tied the knot in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Although neither of them is from there, they have been spotted there multiple times in the last 12 months.

Florence Welch and Bette Midler performed, and although it was a very low-key occasion with catering from a nearby restaurant and largely “close friends and family,” the “close friends” included famous shoe designer Christian Louboutin. Although Lively, 25, is ten years younger than him and has never been married, she did date Penn Badgley, the costar of “Gossip Girl,” for a number of years prior to her widely reported international liaison with Leonardo DiCaprio. They look like the ideal fit, yet this feels a little hurried. They chose to live in Westchester, outside of New York City, demonstrating a total lack of interest in the fledgling Hollywood industry.
