The Reason Blake Lively Claims Having Children Has “Electrified” Her Nervous System
Blake Lively discussed how having four children with husband Ryan Reynolds altered her perspective on life in a conversation with costar Amber Tamblyn of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Being a mother gave Blake Lively access to a new superpower.
The former Gossip Girl actually discussed how having four children with Ryan Reynolds has changed her identity in the world.
“My nervous system feels electrified since having a child, but I know I’m a skin-covered nervous system because that’s the anatomy of a human,” she said to costar Amber Tamblyn of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants at her Substack show Further Ado on February 22. “Every emotion on the human emotional spectrum has been felt by me, and then some. Everything from the highest peaks to the deepest fears to the lowest lows. Thus, everything is sensed through my bσdy.”
Blake also stressed how this personal chapter has affected her professional life. Blake is a mother to four children: James, nine, Inez, seven, Betty, four, and an unnamed fourth.
“It makes it so much easier because I feel so authentically now versus imagining and that translates into all of my creativity,” she said. “Everything gets so much bigger, faster, and brighter when I’m afraid of it.” It’s more radiant when I’m in love. It’s all probably just the way cocคin𝔢 feels.”
Blake discussed a contract she and Ryan made regarding accepting jobs, even though having an electrified nervous system would inevitably make anyone a better actress.
“We made a rule not to work at the same time when Ryan and I got together, so we could always prioritize our personal life,” said Blake, who married Ryan in 2012. “That takes working really hard when we’re not—just like financial planning and sustaining that—it takes balance.”
