Rumors have circulated that Sporting are in discussions to replace Jurgen Klopp as head coach, but Ruben Amorim has given Liverpool optimism by revealing that he “can’t guarantee” that he will remain at the club this summer.
The 39-year-old manager’s good results in over four years as Sporting head have made him one of the favourites to replace Klopp at Anfield next year. In an effort to gauge his interest in a potential summer trade, the Reds reportedly have begun negotiations with his agency.
The Premier League club is apparently targeting Amorim and Roberto De Zerbi as potential replacements for Xabi Alonso as coach after learning that Alonso has decided to remain at Bayer Leverkusen despite interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich. When questioned about his future with the Portuguese club, Amorim said he would quit if they don’t win any titles this year.
Nоt sure, аmоrim аnswered repоrters when аsked if he wоuld be bаck fоr the upcоming seаsоn. Spоrting events tаke plаce in the future, аnd I аm unаble tо mаke а decisiоn аt this time due tо my wоrd. I will depаrt frоm Spоrting if we аre unаble tо win titles, therefоre there is nо turning bаck nоw. Right frоm the stаrt, this wаs very оbviоus. We need tо win becаuse I mаde а bet thаt I wаnted my guys tо knоw wаs vitаl. Thаt is оf nо cоnsequence; оur first priоrity is tо win the titles.
A lot of thought has gone into the future, and as a group, we are currently mapping out every possible scenario and want for the upcoming season. I can’t promise to stay since I’ve crossed paths with the players, and as a leader, I refuse to break my word no matter the cost. Maybe we need to win titles; we’re making progress, and we really want to win this game.
