Gal Gadot takes over as the new face of Smartwater as the brand ends its 12-year contract with Jennifer Aniston

Gal Gadot, an actress, is ushering in the new decade with a completely original business endeavor.

The 34-year-old Wonder Woman actress revealed on Instagram on Wednesday that she will be replacing the 50-year-old Jennifer Aniston as the new Glaceau Smartwater face.

In the caption, she said, “I’m thrilled to announce my new partnership with @smartwater, a brand that is rooted in innovation both inside & outside the plant-based, 100% recyclable bottle!”

“I’ve personally known Smartwater for a long time, and I’m thrilled to join the team!”

The Israeli native decided to work with the brand primarily because she wanted to establish herself as a champion for sustainability and eco-friendly business practices.

“It is evident that there is a significant packaging waste issue facing the world,” the mother of two told People on Friday.

“I was extremely relieved to learn that the company, and the Coca-Cola company as well, has invested billions of dollars into sustainability, including collecting and recycling a bottle for each bottle that is sold,” the author wrote in a pre-partnership email to Smartwater.

For Aniston, who had been the company’s brand ambassador since 2007, handing over the reins to Gadot shouldn’t be too difficult.
