Soon, the two will work together once more on Wonder Woman 2.

The popular blockbuster’s director, Scott Jenkins, hinted that the follow-up wouldn’t even seem like a sequel.

‘We’re actually producing a whole new film with a lot of the same, same like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us, Jenkins stated in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. We are extremely fortunate to embark on this brand-new journey together.

After making her screen debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot portrayed Wonder Woman in the first movie, which followed her as she battled the German forces in World War I alongside American spy Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).

American psychologist William Moulton Marston and illustrator Harry G. Perry invented the Wonder Woman character, which debuted in 1941 in comic book pages.

While Jenkins is thrilled to introduce Wonder Woman to a new generation of viewers, she hinted that the follow-up would likely feature TV actress Lynda Carter, who portrayed the character from 1975 to 1979.

‘We’ll see,’ answered Jenkins. One of our favorite individuals, Lynda has been a wonderful friend and mentor to us. She was actually our first “Wonder Woman,” and we really tried so hard to get her in the first one, but the schedule just wasn’t working out.

“We won’t say anything just yet, but we’re definitely trying,”

Attendees at the star-studded film festival included Daniel Kaluuya, Jordan Peele, and Jenkins.
