Premier League teams raise concerns about fixture integrity, leaving Arsenal and Liverpool dissatisfied

A whirlwind of criticism has descended upon the Premier League as a result of recent fixture alterations, which have caused teams to doubt the schedule’s fairness. Due to an unusually heavy schedule, Arsenal are sure to be quite frustrated, whereas Tottenham will have an unprecedented fifteen days off before the North London derby on April 28.

An other source of discontent for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is the next Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday, April 24, and the subsequent encounter at West Ham on Saturday, April 27, as reported in the Mirror.

Manchester City’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on April 20 has forced the postponement of Tottenham’s meeting versus City the same weekend. Even though Tottenham and City were supposed to play each other the following week, City will instead face Brighton on Thursday, April 25.

As a result, Tottenham will not play next until April 13 against Newcastle. After that, they will host Arsenal at White Hart Lane. Spurs have 15 days to rest and recharge, while Arsenal face four crucial matches against Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Wolves, and their rescheduled encounter with Chelsea.Any changes to the order of games might have a major impact on the championship and playoff races.

When compared to Villa, who are still playing in the Europa Conference League, Tottenham’s schedule is clearly superior.

Concerns regarding the “integrity” of the fixture list have been voiced by multiple clubs, and the rescheduling has the potential to impact the league’s final outcomes.

Instead of meeting Tottenham, a venue that has frequently been difficult for City until their FA Cup success in January, they now have a possibly easier encounter against Brighton much earlier on.

English clubs’ advancement in the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League, together with FA Cup postponements, are the main causes of the chaotic fixture schedule.

The Premier League insists that rescheduling postponed games as soon as possible is customary protocol, but Tottenham and City’s match still hasn’t been moved.

Klopp has played a key role in avoiding Saturday lunchtime following midweek European fixtures, which is a nightmare for Liverpool as well.

Still, matches played in the area are exempt from this rule. Their upcoming schedule includes a Wednesday night match against Everton and a Saturday lunchtime trip to West Ham, both of which will be televised live on TNT Sports.

Because of the high stakes involved, Premier League officials have been reticent to book the Merseyside derby for the last week of the season on the only other available time. It is possible that Liverpool is still competing in the Europa League.

It is still tоо eаrly tо tell whether Mаnchester United vs. Newcаstle, Chelseа vs. Tоttenhаm, оr Brightоn vs. Chelseа will be rescheduled, but City’s trip tо Tоttenhаm is оne оf fоur. City will fаce Brightоn insteаd оf Tоttenhаm, but the Premier Leаgue hаs mаde it cleаr thаt they will reschedule gаmes in dаte оrder regаrdless оf whether it’s due tо pоlicy оr а clаsh.
