Kanye West and JAY-Z’s friendship might be in jeopardy.
During an interview with Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller on the Rap Radar podcast, which is available on TIDAL, this past Thursday, the rapper discussed his supposed conflict with Kanye. He was candid about how much Kanye’s late-year onstage tirade wounded him.
On the podcast, Jay-Z stated, “You got hurt, because this guy was talking about you on a stage.” “What truly upset me, though, is that neither my wife nor my child can be involved. I mean, Kanye is like my little brother. He’s said a hundred things about me. He even composed the song “Big Brother.” We’ve moved beyond more serious problems, but since you involved my family, there is now a concern.”
At a November 2016 concert, Kanye went on an onstage tirade about JAY-Z and Beyonce, accusing the latter of refusing to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards unless her video for “Formation” won (which it did). Kanye then asked JAY-Z to phone him. Following that, the rapper, forty, decided to enter himself into rehab to treat tiredness and canceled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour.
“You know it’s a problem because me and him would have been talked about it, been resolved our issues,” Jay-Z continued. He is aware that he crossed the boundary. He is aware. I’m sure he is aware of it. Because despite the fact that we have had many arguments, we have never allowed this much time to pass between them. It’s a component of our identity.
The 47-year-old billionaire has never commented on his former collaborator’s outburst before, but this podcast is the first instance.

He also talked about his song “Kill Jay Z,” which comes in at 4:44 and seems to mention Kanye, Kim Kardashian, and their kid Saint. He said, “It’s not even about a Kanye diss.” I’m talking to myself the entire time, so it’s not a diss.”
“I’m not talking about Kanye when I say, ‘You dropped out of school / you lost your principles’—I’m talking about me” he continues.
Kanye has not addressed JAY-Z’s comments. In May, he removed all social media posts after missing the Met Gala.

At the time, an insider told ET, “He’s concentrating on slowly reentering the public eye. That was the main reason he refused to attend the Met Ball. Though he still loves Anna and is close friends with her, his current priorities include keeping well.”
