JAY-Z Says Fatherhood ‘Changed Practically Everything’ in Rare Comment: ‘Time Is All You Have’
JAY-Z revealed that he loves his kids “more than anything in the world” on a new episode of Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart series on Peacock
JAY-Z is sharing rare insight into his life as a dad.
In a recent installment of his Hart to Heart series on Peacock, 52-year-old rapper and producer Kevin Hart talked about how important it is to spend quality time with his kids. With his wife Beyoncé, he has twins Sir, age 5, and Blue Ivy, age 10.
The Grammy winner said to the 43-year-old comic that he “definitely” values taking time out of his hectic schedule to spend with his children.
“All you have is time. We only have control over it,” he declared. “How you use your time matters. You used to waste time carelessly and were disorganized, and now you have to… For what purpose are you abandoning your home?”
“Every second that you spend, you’re spending away from the development of these people that you brought here, that you love more than anything in the world,” he said. What will you do with that time then? So that was a big change. For me, that was almost everything that changed.”

When the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics squared off in Game 5 of the NBA Finals last month, JAY-Z and Blue Ivy were spotted courtside.
The father and daughter wore matching all-black ensembles. Jay-Z donned a black t-shirt, white sneakers, and joggers, while Blue Ivy accessorized with hoop earrings and wore a black leather jacket, black sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.
Blue Ivy received a kiss on the cheek from the “Empire State of Mind” rapper in a now-viral video of jumbotron footage that was posted on Twitter.
In February, Blue Ivy and JAY-Z went to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California to watch Super Bowl LVI together, which featured the Los Angeles Rams versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
In honor of her rapper father’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last November, Blue Ivy recited some of his well-known lyrics alongside her mother and other notable people.
She laughed endearingly as she read aloud the censored lyric from JAY-Z’s 1998 song “Ride or Die.” “Congrats S. Carter, ghost writer/You paid the right price, so we just make your hits tighter,” she said.
