Former Nigerian football player John Obi Mikel revealed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen wants to go to England to play for Chelsea Club. This is notable information for MU and a number of clubs that are pursuing this striker.
Thanks to his impressive performance in the Napoli shirt, Osimhen has many options because he has caught the attention of the Red Devils, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and even PSG. According to Obi Mikel, a former member of Chelsea, the Blues are the team with the most advantages in the race to get Osimhen’s services.
Speaking in a recent interview, the 2011/12 Champions League champion said: “Both Chelsea and Osimhen care for each other. I believe Osimhen’s dream is to become a member of Chelsea in one day. It’s clear that he wants to follow in my footsteps as well as some of his Nigerian compatriots who played for Chelsea like Victor Moses or Celestine Babayaro.”
“It also needs to be said that London is very attractive because it is truly a wonderful city. In my opinion, Liverpool or any other place cannot compare with London in terms of attractiveness.”
“I know Osimhen is being pursued by many teams like MU, PSG or Chelsea. To help Osimhen make the most reasonable choice, I texted him to convince him to join Chelsea,” Obi Mikel shared.
Osimhen has contributed 13 goals/21 matches for Napoli since the beginning of the season. Not long ago, he extended his contract with the parent team until the summer of 2026. In the agreement signed by the parties, there is a bond- breaking clause worth 111 million pounds.
According to The Sun, this is not a large number and Chelsea can give Napoli enough money to free Osimhen. If he cooperates with the West London representative, the 25-year-old player who played for Lille wants a salary of 250,000 pounds/week.
