Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Leeds United in the FA Cup fifth-round match at Stamford Bridge was earned through a spirited victory.
For the Blues, though, it was far from an easy matchup as they were frequently unsettled by the Championship team’s tenacity.
The clumsiness of Chelsea’s passing out from behind made things more difficult. In goal, Robert Sanchez appeared a little unsteady and ultimately gave up easy goals.
The Spaniard only completed 3/9 of his long ball attempts, which was especially bad. Following the match, some Chelsea supporters expressed their desire for Djordje Petrovic to be benched in favor of him on Twitter.
“Robert Sánchez should return to the bench after today’s game,” stated Omotolani Adebanjo.
“We can all agree that Robert Sanchez cannot be our no. 1,” said Dee Process.
Kay: “I really hope that Pochettino has officially made Petrović our number one with the start of Robert Sánchez tonight.”
Jerry: I believe that everyone agrees that Djordje Petrovic should continue to be our starting goalkeeper because he is far superior to Robert Sanchez.
“I hope Petrovic maintains his position as the top player on Saturday. Robert Sanchez isn’t a bad player, but Petrovic definitely gives us more poise, in my opinion,” said CFCPys.
Slip: “I was reminded of a time when Mendy was on a roll and we threw on Kepa by Robert Sanchez starting over Petrovic today.” Sanchez is A**, even though I realize that fatigue was probably the cause of this one.
