April 11, DJ Khaled receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The award-winning DJ, record executive, and record producer finally gets his much-deserved star after a long list of notable achievements.
Six albums, four top-charting singles, and four Grammy nominations are all part of Khaled’s career. At the ceremony this morning, which was held next to Amoeba Music, DJ Khaled was joined in speaking by his friends and partners Fat Joe and Sean Combs. Along with Khaled were rapper and businessman Jay-Z, along with his spouse and two kids.
After the first 1,558 stars were added to the Walk of Fame in 1961, the star now stands at 2,719 stars.
This is a significant achievement for DJ Khaled, who started out as a radio presenter with Luther Campbell, better known as Uncle Luke, on WEDR-FM (99.9) in Miami in 1998.
Seeing Khaled succeed has been a sight to behold. In 2006, he dropped his debut album Listennn… the Album, which peaked at No. 3 on the R&B/Hip Hop and rap lists of Billboard. The following year, he released his second album, We the Best, which peaked at No. 2 on both charts.
The charts have been topped by his last five albums. “Popstar,” “Wild Thoughts,” and “I’m the One” are a few of his top hits.
In 2020, Khaled took home a Grammy for “best rap performance,” which included John Legend on keys and the late Nipsey Hussle on vocals. His other two Grammy nominations were for Major Key’s “best rap album” in 2016 and for his work on H.E.R.’s “Back of My Mind,” which was nominated for album of the year in 2021.
Big congratulations to DJ Khaled for receiving a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood!
