‘Heart of Stone’ Costars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan Bonded Over Being ‘Girl Parents’

There are numerous reasons why Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan grew close while filming the spy thriller Heart of Stone.

Like Gadot, 38, notes in the most recent edition of PEOPLE, she and Dornan, 41, are both Tauruses, sardonic, and “girl parents.”

Before beginning production on the film, Dornan, 41, who shares Dulcie, 9, Elva, 7, and Alberta, 4, with his wife, composer and singer Amelia Warner, 41, and Gadot, who shares daughters Alma, 11, Maya 6, and Daniella, 2, with her husband, 48-year-old entrepreneur Jaron Varsano, had never met.

However, Gadot says, “we kind of hit it right from the get-go” because of their shared experiences. Dornan concurs, stating that their chemistry clicked “instantly.” Before the SAG-AFTRA strike in June, they had a conversation with PEOPLE.

“It’s So Magical,” says Gal Gadot, adding that she would give birth “once a week if I could.”

The actors’ kids didn’t become fast friends, despite the fact that they did. Though Gadot jokes that her costar was the one to put an end to it, the couple had planned to set up a playdate or meeting.

She jokes, “I think Jamie was like, ‘I just need some quiet time.'”

In actuality, Dornan and his family were in the midst of moving, and their schedules were simply too busy. We still hadn’t returned to London. We felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere because we were still living in the country, says Dornan.

Additionally, Dornan discloses that one of his girls aspires to be a movie star like him.

Our 7-year-old was required to stand up during a school assembly and declare her career goals. She expressed her desire to become a vocalist. Then, at the last minute, she decided to alter it to actress, and she was required to provide three justifications for her decision,” he claims.

Gal Gadot states in an exclusive interview that she and her husband “Put Egos Aside” while working on “Heart of Stone.”

“Told her what I liked about doing it: getting to travel, meet different people, and immerse myself in characters,” the actor said. So she stood up and stated everything,” he goes on. “Next week, she’ll probably want to be an astronaut.” I found that quite cool, though, that she even had that moment where she wanted to do it.

In the film Heart of Stone, Gadot portrays Rachel Stone, an undercover operative for The Charter, a covert intelligence network. It’s actually so covert that other intelligence services are unaware of it.

“Having Rachel be a fighter is really important to me, but I also wanted her to be able to use her brain, intuition, and emotions,” the actress stated in an interview with the Netflix publication Tudum in June. She doesn’t simply charge in with her guns blazing. She considers her impact on various individuals and circumstances.

Gadot tells PEOPLE she was inspired to make this movie after the success of Wonder Woman, the 2017 D.C. Universe movie she headlined. “I realized there’s more room for these types of movies to be led by women. And we just went for it,” she says.

Dornan adds that he was all in. “I want to be a supporter of female-led movies when I can. And I’m very happy to be by her side in this one and watch women kick ass,” he says.

Heart of Stone streams on Netflix Friday, Aug. 11.
