With Joel Matip’s contract set to expire this summer, 32 years old, he could receive an offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq. Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk’s future has been in the spotlight since Jurgen Klopp’s impending exit made headlines.

Tosin, whose contract with Liverpool expires at the conclusion of the season, is a 26-year-old whom scouts have started following, according to the Evening Standard, who reports that Liverpool will join the defense transfer market this summer.

They have already spoken about signing Lloyd Kelly, a forthcoming free agent from Bournemouth, and Tosin, a native of the country, is considered as a wise target to bolster their domestic contingent.

Why Joel Matip injury could work out for Liverpool in the long run

A number of center backs have been linked to Liverpool in recent weeks, with Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP frequently mentioned as a possible acquisition.

Tosin, who was being considered by Tottenham until they signed Radu Dragusin in the January transfer window, is one of the less expensive options that Liverpool seems to be considering in light of Inacio’s £51 million release clause.

Although he has had four fruitful years with Fulham—he is a product of Manchester City’s academy—Tosin was on the verge of departing last summer as he entered the final year of his contract. Despite interest from Tottenham and Monaco of Ligue 1, a deal could not be reached with Fulham.
