Deco, Barcelona’s sports director, has proposed three players as potential substitutes for Sergio Busquets.
Busquets joined the Barcelona academy in 2005 after having played for clubs such as Badia, Barbera Andalucia, Leida, and Jabac Terrassa throughout his youth.
Busquets made his senior first-team debut in 2008 after being promoted to the Catalan club’s B squad two years later.
With 722 appearances in all competitions and 18 goals scored, Busquets became one of the best midfielders of his generation.
One of the greatest midfield pairings in football history will consist of Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, and Andres Iniesta.
The Spaniard made public his intention to depart Barcelona in May 2023 and returned to play alongside Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with Inter Miami.
Barcelona director Deco recently stated that it is very difficult to find a suitable replacement for Busquets.
Replacing Busquets is next to impossible, according to Deco, who quoted transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. City will never sell Rodri, even if he is the closest…
Signing Kimmich, another excellent player, is no picnic. Take a look at Chelsea’s price tag for Caicedo; it’s not cheap.
With manager Xavi expected to retire at the conclusion of the 23/24 season, Barcelona will enter the summer with a great deal of doubt.
Xavi stated, “We have reached a point of no return” when asked about his choice to go from the club. A shift is necessary. I, a Culé, believe that the moment has come to depart. Today I had conversations with the club and the board. On June 30th, I will depart.
We can now compete for the Champions League now that everything has calmed down… I’m relieved that the press won’t be able to harm me anymore thanks to this ruling. This choice will help the club improve.
On Sunday afternoon, Barcelona will return to La Liga action at the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys to face Granada.
