Tom Hardy Loves Dogs, Bonded With The Drop Puppies—See Photos of the Actor With His Furry Friends!Dark Knight Rises actor and his partner have two at home
The 36-year-old British actor, who portrayed the antagonist Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, is dog-parent to two canines with longtime wife Charlotte Riley. Along with finding homes for others, he forms ties with the dogs he works with.
About the family pets, he stated, “Can’t have any more for the moment,” in an interview with Vulture that was published on Wednesday. “And they’re really quite a few, actually two. However, I adore dogs. Like, a whole lot. My favorite animal is them. At all.”
The Drop, the most recent film from Hardy and the last picture starring the late James Gandolfini, has a pit bull named Rocco. The crime drama film, which also stars Noomi Rapace and is scheduled for release on September 12, was shot on location last year, when Hardy was seen cuddling with one of the puppies.
Who was to blame for him? Take a look at that expression! And in this video, “Rocco” is even more adorable.
A “big draw” for Hardy, as he put it to Vulture, was his character Bob’s “love of the dog” in The Drop. He continued by saying that on sometimes he would carry one of the pit bull puppies that portrayed Rocco under the hood of his jacket and bring it home or even to the bar.
“T was the first one we had, then he started to grow, then he started to get bigger, so J came in, and they had two different personalities—all dogs have different personalities,” said Hardy. “But it was challenging. Favorites were emerging for me. My favorite was T, but as he became raucous and showed little concern for others, I discovered J. J was so adorable that all he wanted to do was kiss and lick everybody. Then T was furious that I was taking J back, so I had to take T back. I was like, ‘I’ve gotten really on with these dogs,'” but he was the one that returned with me.

According to Hardy, who also features in the comedy film Scenes of a Sexual Nature (2006) (shown below), he sees himself “as a dog inside in many ways.” Hardy made this statement to Vulture.
“I’m very, very loyal, but, you know, I will piss on the carpet,” he quipped. “I’m going to chew on your shoes! Additionally, I occasionally appear as like I’m about to bite, but if you know me, you know that’s not who I am.”
Every dog has a task. You know, some people work at various jobs than others. I work for a living. You know, I think of myself as a lot like a dog. That seems really strange. He inquired. “Alright, I f–king adore dogs. I adore canines.”
