Tom Hardy writes heartfelt letter to his french bulldog that passed away

“He was a shining example of man’s best friend.”

Woody, Tom Hardy’s dog, was regarded as the “light of his life.” Woody tragically passed away not too long ago, and the actor’s public eulogy to the dog is both poignant and exquisite.

As Hardy’s devoted sidekick, Woody went with him to film locations and movie premieres. He was even included in TIME magazine’s list of animals that have influenced people.

Hardy writes in the letter about how he pulled Woody off of a busy road.

My earliest memory of Woodstock [Woody] was of him sprinting across a turnpike near Peachtree, Georgia, late one night in the dark. while Lawless was being filmed. He was an outcast. eleven weeks old. Oh no, we thought to ourselves. Hastily Get that dog, please.

Hardy also talks about how amusingly he came up with the dog’s name.

Jessica questioned me about his gender. I said it’s a boy. How are you aware of this? Well, I sense Woodstock in him. fantastic We’ll refer to him as Woodstock! And so it did.

The performer talked about how Woody had a lovely effect on everyone he came into contact with.

He was adored by everyone who met him. There wasn’t a single weak spot on his body. He was just aware of love.

Woody battled “with an aggressive polymyostisis,” a disorder that damages skeletal muscle, for six months.

Two days ago, Woody went away. He was just six years old. We are grieved by his loss at home because he was far too young to go. In the end, I am thankful for his devoted love and company, and it brings me some immense consolation to know that he is no longer in pain.

The letter calls Woody “a shining example of man’s best friend.” He burned [sic] extremely brightly, and brilliant burners don’t always burn for half as long.”

Woody was obviously a lucky dog to have so much affection in his life. See the entire touching letter here.
