“Still a few” — This week’s Chelsea first team roster is still in the works

There is little time to finalize any transactions before Thursday night, when the winter transfer deadline expires.

That being said, it is still entirely feasible for Chelsea to sign further players. The Blues have led all clubs in transfer activity over the past three summers. However, January 2019 was never going to be as busy as the previous two or three; the question has always been if the club can take advantage of the proper possibilities to strengthen their roster.

I agree with those who sаy they should still bring in a new striker this month, and I’m not surprised if they do.

Chelsea are reportedly still considering signing a handful of players this week, as reported by Ben Jacobs in today’s exclusive and detailed Chelsea transfer piece for SPTC.Regarding the forward entering this window, he mentions that a few names are still being investigated. Even though he’ll be out for a while with a hamstring ιnjury, Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran isn’t totally out either. While Duran’s ‘rough-edged’ personality is acknowledged, Chelsea sees him as having a high ceiling. Because Duran is an investment in the future, a temporary setback shouldn’t be too discouraging.

Curiously, Villa have also contemplated a trade involving Armando Broja and Duran, with the latter moving the other way.
