One Chelsea player was reportedly unhappy after being substituted during tonight’s game, according to journalist Simon Johnson.
During the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, he went on Twitter to sаy that Noni Madueke did not appear pleased with his substitution.
The draw at Stamford Bridge was Chelsea’s second setback this week as they failed to advance to the knockout stage of a cup competition.
Even so, they’ll be eligible to participate in this weekend’s 5th Round draw.
After needing to make a last-minute substitution to start Levi Colwill, Mauricio Pochettino had to think quickly on his feet right from the onset.
After bringing in Alfie Gilchrist, the management saw another indication from the player’s assured performance that he would be getting more playing time in the upcoming weeks.
The Argentine went to his bench to use his attacking options as he pursued a goal in stoppage time.
Madueke was one of the casualties; Johnson said he didn’t appear pleased about his dismissal during the second half.
“Chelsea will be getting Mudryk and Broja on,” he announced. Madueke and Sterling’s turn now. Madueke appeared to be qui
te unhappy.
The England U21 player, who has been on fire as of late, will be bummed that he wasted tonight’s chance to really shine.
