The most interesting pieces from Tyga’s wardrobe

Rapper Tyga, from California, has collaborated on songs with some of the biggest artists in his genre and has a long list of hits. Whatever your thoughts on his music, Tyga is a living example of the combination of streetwear and rap, and sneakers and rap go hand in hand. Since the release of his first mixtape in 2007, Tyga’s style of clothing has evolved, much like his musical taste. Let’s examine some of his most intriguing streetwear items, as seen in his most recent Complex video.

BAPE SNEAKERS

Tyga has been working on building his enormous collection of BAPE sneakers since he was twelve years old. Still to this day, Nigo, the creator of the company, and Pharrell Williams remain two of his greatest influences. Most of the BAPEstas, ROADstas, and a plethora of other fascinating models can be found in his closet. There are limited editions, like BAPE’s partnership with Marvel, which is particularly notable for its unique packaging, as well as general releases and camo patterns. The iconic “College Dropout” sneakers from BAPE and Kanye West, whose price is nearly impossible to get these days, are the highlight of his BAPE collection.

ICE CREAM AND BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB

We can disregard the latest releases of Louis Vuitton sneakers, Ian Connor’s Revenge Storms, and other high-profile footwear from the past few years. Along with BAPE, Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club (BBC) are two sibling labels that play a significant role in Tyga’s wardrobe. You can recognize some extremely rare sneakers and clothing from them. With the exception of a few partnerships with adidas, neither Ice Cream nor BBC have produced anything particularly noteworthy in the last few years that has resonated in the streetwear community. This may not be a coincidence, given that Nigo and Pharrell both sold their shares of the company prior to this “recession.” However, there is still hope because Pharrell purchased a portion of his share back.

CUSTOM AIR FORCE 1’S

“I never have enough white Uptowns. I wear them three or four times and need new ones” – that’s Tyga’s justification of the tens, if not hundreds of Air Force 1’s he has. A lot of them are customised by artists and designers – such as the Louis Vuitton version by @imran_potato or the 350$ Dragon Breath version.

ETAI DRORI CUSTOMS

It seems like everything has been done in our planet, and there aren’t really many more frontiers to explore. However, individuals such as Etai Drori emerge and demonstrate, seemingly with minimal endeavor, that it remains achievable. Etai gained notoriety by dismantling and reconstructing items from Louis Vuitton and related labels. He uses LV towels to create everything from lighter covers to jackets, shorts, and waist packs. I’m curious to know how much money he spends at LV.

CUSTOM LOUIS VUITTON MILLIONAIRE SUNGLASSES

We looked at Tyga’s sneakers, clothes and now it’s time to move onto his sunglasses. This signature piece was created in 2004 by the creative trio Marc Jacobs, Pharrell Williams and Nigo. Apart from all the original ones, Tyga also owns not one, but two pairs of the newest iteration, the design of which was supervised by Virgil Abloh – he had one pair set with diamonds
