After picking up an injury while playing for Egypt, Mohamed Salah is set to make a temporary return to Liverpool for the Africa Cup of Nations.
After suffering a hamstring ιnjury in Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana, Mohamed Salah is expected to make a short trip back to Liverpool for medical treatment. Following Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, Jurgen Klopp made the announcement during his post-match press conference. If Salah is able to recuperate in time, he may be able to return to international action at AFCON.

In Thursday’s 2-2 draw with Ghana, the 31-year-old was substituted off early in the game and will not return for Egypt’s next two matches, should they advance to the quarterfinals.
Even though Jurgen Klopp said that Salah is set to return to Merseyside for treatment in the, there is still optimism that he could play for Egypt at the tournament.

He stated, “That’s the plan” in his post-match press conference when asked about the possibility of Salah’s return. I don’t know if it’s already set in stone, but that’s the plan. “No matter how long he’s out, I think everyone will agree that it’s great that he’s participating in rehab alongside our folks. That’s the plan, although I’m not sure if it’s now officially set in stone.
After Salah’s ιnjury, Klopp continued talking to him and stated that he and the club’s medical staff had been in touch.
I had a conversation with him the night after the game, right after it had ended. Thereafter, he maintained communication with our physician. I believe he will return because the doctor informed me.
Klopp has stated that the forward will return to the competition if he is healthy enough to do so, and if Egypt beats Cape Verde, they will qualify for the round of 16.
Klopp declared, “I am not a doctor.” the second time around. In all likelihood, yes, provided Egypt advance to the final and he recovers in time. I don’t see why not.The tournament is clearly in progress. We don’t have any nationals representing us in Ivory Coast, and their staff are responsible for taking care of the players, so we’ll have to see how things go.
