Terem Moffi says, ‘I watched them’ when asked about the football greats from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Nigeria who influenced him as a kid

Terem Moffi, a standout for the Suρer Eagles, has spoken about the players from Nigeria, Africa, and Europe that influenced him as a kid. All of these players were known for their оffensive performance.

After being added to the final Suρer Eagles squad at the last minute, the OGC Nice star is in contention to make his Africa Cup of Nations debut. This is because Victor Boniface withdrew from the squad after suffering a groin ιnjury during Nigeria’s training camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Moffi has come clean about his past as a Chelsea supporter and how Robin van Persie of Arsenal and Didier Drogba of the Ivory Coast were his idols when he was a young Nigerian youngster.

The ex-Lorient player’s father, Leo Moffi, was a footballer with Enugu Rangers.

“When I was in Europe, I was a Chelsea fan, so Didier Drogba,” Moffi told Wale Quadry, a journalist from Nigeria. Too strangely, I adored Robin van Persie. From what I could see, there were a number of very good strikers.

Moffi drew inspiration from late Premier League greats Obafemi Martins, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, and Nigerian superstar Nwankwo Kanu when he was a kid.

Their play style, habits, and other characteristics influenced my own game after I observed them play.

You improve your skills and your understanding of the game when you obtain bits from elite players.

“Growing up I watched Obafemi Martins, Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, you watch these Nigerian legends of the game,” according to him.

Including two goals in AFCON qualifying, Moffi has scored four goals in fourteen appearances for the Suρer Eagles.
