Sadio Mané, a former Liverpool star, swears he isn’t stepping out of the spotlight while he plays for a Saudi team

Sadio Mané, a sensation in Senegal, has stated that he is content with his club soccer career in Saudi Arabia and has refuted claims that he receives less attention there than in one of Europe’s “big five” divisions.

At the Africa Cup of Nations, Mané told reporters, “That’s what you think because I’m not in Europe,” following Senegal’s 3-1 victory over Cameroon. If this happens to you, I’m sorry. For you, it’s meaningless if you don’t play in Europe. “As a football player, I am not around.”

Last year, Mané joined the Saudi team Al-Nassr after having previously played for Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

“Fortunately, I can sаy the Saudi league is a very good league, and watched by everybody in the world, so, for me, as long as I’m doing my best and I’m enjoying myself every single minute, that’s more important,” said Mané. “The rest, for me, doesn’t matter.”

With their victory on Friday, Senegal guaranteed their spot in the Africa Cup quarterfinals with one game to spare.

Mané had a rough season after joining Bayern from Liverpool in 2022, despite winning the Bundesliga. He captained Liverpool to a Premier League and Champions League victory in England.
