A number of Major League Soccer clubs are interested in acquiring Nottingham Forrest forward Divock Origi

Among the teams rumored to be interested in the 28-year-old Belgian are FC Cincinnati, LAFC, and FC Dallas.

Origi has played in nine games this season while on loan from AC Milan; beyond that, the Serie A club may recall him.Origi was signed on a loan with an option to purchase by former manager Steve Cooper. Cooper believed that bringing Origi back to the Premier League would unleash his ability to score crucial goals.

Origi, on the other hand, has been benched by Cooper’s replacement, Nuno Espirito Santo, after failing to score in nine outings. He was a cult hero after eight seasons with Liverpool in the English Premier League, where he was known for his propensity for scoring at crucial moments.

In the 2019 Champions League semi-final, Liverpool defeated Barcelona thanks in large part to two goals scored by Origi. After that, he scored in the championship game, helping his club defeat Tottenham and claim Europe’s top trophy. He also helped win the Premier League title with the 2019–20 team.

During the 2022 summer transfer window, Origi first joined San Siro.

Although he scored in his debut game for AC Milan, his scoring drought continued, limiting him to just two goals in 36 games throughout his stint with the club.

Wolfsburg and Lille are among the teams that Origi has played for throughout his career.

Egypt boss plays down severity of Mohamed Salah injury

The injury that forced Liverpool star Mohamed Salah off Thursday’s Africa Cup of Nations match against Ghana has been downplayed by Egypt head coach Rui Vitoria. After scoring and setting up another in Egypt’s first match against Mozambique, Salah entered their second group match in a self-assured state.

The injury the 31-year-old sustained in the last moments of the first period prevented him from making it till halftime.

Mostafa Fathi replaced the Egypt captain in the waning moments of the first half when he collapsed to the ground with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.Egypt demonstrated remarkable resilience by coming back from behind twice to tie Ghana 2-2 without their star player.

Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt and Mostafa Mohamed of Nantes each scored once to offset a brace from Mohamed Kudus of West Ham United.

During the news conference that followed the match, Vitoria made an effort to downplay the gravity of Salah’s injury.

“I pray it’s not a major issue,” Vitoria informed the press. Unfortunately, we were unable to make a substitute due to a loss in the first half. We could only spare two minutes in the second half to bring in substitutes.

According to Vitoria, the Egypt coach is hoping to have Salah available for Monday’s group stage match against Cape Verde, when his team will strive to secure a spot in the knockout stages.

In Group B, Cape Verde is presently leading with one point, and the Pharaohs are in second place, having drawn their first two games. Cape Verde will play Mozambique in their second game on Friday.

Everyone is hoping Salah gets well soon, but Liverpool and Egypt both want to know how bad his injury is.

With nine assists and eighteen goals in 27 games this season, Salah has been an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
