Happy 23rd birthday to Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea put £50million price tag on Armando Broja amid links to Premier League rivals
The likes of Wolves, West Ham, and Fulham are all interested in signing Broja.
They should be on the lookout since, regardless of whether they manage to get a new center forward this month, reports surfaced on Wednesday suggesting that Chelsea will listen to offers for the 22-year-old.
The Blues are reportedly worth between £50 million and £60 million for the Albanian international, which will undoubtedly disappoint them.Reportedly, they have used the prices or signing bonuses of other young strikers in the Premier League to arrive at their estimate.
Reportedly, they were heavily influenced by Manchester United’s £72 million deal for Rasmus Hojlund and Brighton’s £100 million appraisal of Evan Ferguson.
But even taking into account his limited performance, this still seems like a ridiculously high sum to pay for a player.Despite making 36 appearances for Chelsea, Broja has only managed to score three goals. However, he had a strong loan spell at Southampton a few seasons back.
The striker has had a rough go of it with injuries, missing most of 2023 due to a knee problem; however, if he is able to stay healthy, he may get plenty of playing time in the coming weeks.Since Mauricio Pochettino’s first-choice center-forward Nicolas Jackson is at the African Cup of Nations, and Christopher Nkunku is ill, Broja may get a start.
On Tuesday, Chelsea will play home to Middlesbrough in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. The following week, they will face Aston Villa in a challenging FA Cup match and travel to Liverpool for a Premier League meeting.
