Young sensation Conor Bradley gushed about Trent Alexander-Arnold, praising him as “the best right back and arguably the best player in the world at the moment” while describing the Liverpool colleague.
Liverpool rallied from behind to defeat Fulham 2-1 in Wednesday’s first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final match, and Bradley was effusive in his praise of Alexander-Arnold.
After the game, Bradley wasted no time praising his teammate, who had a breakout performance after being inserted into the starting lineup to replace the injured Alexander-Arnold at right back.
“With his current form, Trent is clearly the best right-back in the world,” he remarked. “He’s probably the best player in the world.”
The 20-year-old actress continued by saying, “Wow, Trent’s really missing, but I did my best to step in and help us win.”
Despite playing right back in Alexander-Arnold’s absence due to ιnjury, Bradley earned great praise from his manager for his performance on Wednesday night.
While Jurgen Klopp is considering whether or not to permanently start Alexander-Arnold in the middle of the field, Jamie Redknapp, a former Liverpool player, is speculating on Sky Sports that Bradley, 20, could be the answer.
In the past few weeks, they have found one, Conor Bradley, Redknapp started. ‘What they may have done is identified the ideal right back to move Trent into the center of the midfield.
For a long time now, I’ve sensed that’s where he’ll wind up, and I’m not wrong. That kid is full of life. He battled a bit in the first half and didn’t perform up to par, but what a guy they have on their hands; he was sensational in the second.
Another one rising through the ranks who will benefit the team as a whole; having him on the team provides Trent more options when it comes to playing in the middle of the field. He has excellent mobility, excellent control of the ball, and an air of self-assurance about him.
Bradley, who has 10 appearances for Liverpool, won League One’s Player of the Year title during his year on loan at Bolton last season before making his return to Anfield.
The Reds vice captain often plays in defense but frequently looks more at home in the middle of the field, so he could get more playing time while filling in for Alexander-Arnold, who is out for a few weeks with a knee ιnjury.
In his postgame interview, Klopp expressed his concern that the Northern Irishman would not make it home and likely doze off in the locker room. He is a remarkable young man with great potential, a wonderful personality, and the love and respect of his teammates ensures that he plays on the best possible squad.
Even if he wasn’t directly involved in the goal we gave up—due to them tripping over the ball or something—the game was still fantastic due to all the challenges.
We had a lot of trouble as a team in the first half due to our very compact defense; we focused a lot of our play on this. After that, we were unable to move freely down the field and had to make a change.
We made a modification at halftime to play more in the half spaces, and the lads really thrived in that area.
