At the Golden Globes, Nicolas Cage celebrates his 60th birthday! At a show with his 28-year-old wife Riko Shibata, the actor celebrates his “golden years” with a shiny jacket.

Being 60 years old gave Nicolas Cage even more reason to rejoice when he attended the 2024 Golden Globes.

The actor, whose formal birthday is January 7, was positively radiant as he walked the red carpet beside his stunning 28-year-old wife, Riko Shibata.

Cage wore a silky black top with a bowtie, topped off with a classy metallic tuxedo jacket.

The Ghost Rider actor also wore classy black leggings and shiny loafers.

His wife Riko, looking stunning in a brown jacket that resembled fur put over black pants and heels, clasped his hand gently.

She wore her shoulder-length hair down in glam curls and also sported a bold red lip.

Cage opened up about celebrating his big day at the awards show with USA Today, joking there was no other place he’d want to spend it.

Asked how he’d ideally like to celebrate his birthday, he said with laughter: ‘Right here, right now with you.’

Nicolas added he wore his metallic jacket to mark the beginning of his ‘golden years.’

‘See I’m looking at this whole thing like one big birthday party, my 60th birthday party no less, which is why I’m wearing a gold jacket, because I wanted to celebrate entering into my golden years at the Golden Globes.’

Nicolas then weighed in on the recent strikes in Hollywood, saying it felt ‘great’ the boycotts were now over.

‘It’s needed. We all want to get back to work. I am proud of my union, proud of my brothers and sister actors. They were strong and tough and I think we were a beacon for other industries to know if you stand together, you can get the changes you need.’

Unfortunately for Nicolas, the actor lost his nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy to Paul Giamatti.

Cage had been nominated for his starring role in Dream Scenario.

Nicolas married Riko in 2021, and they welcomed daughter August Francesca in 2022. The actor also has son Weston Cage Coppola, 33, with ex Christina Fulton and son Kal-El Coppola, 18, with his ex-wife Alice Kim.

Last year Cage reflected on his milestone birthday with Entertainment Tonight, describing his hopes to scale back on work and spend more time with August.

‘So 60’s coming up. I’d like to read a book a week, I want to spend more time with my daughter, I’m taking stock of what’s really important,’ he said.

‘Maybe not make quite as many movies,’ he added.

Of raising a daughter, he said: ‘It’s profound… Totally new experience, I love it.’
