Watrau Endo is ‘confident’ that Liverpool will keep the title charge going

With Mohamed Salah out for the month of January, Watrau Endo is “confident” that Liverpool will keep the title charge going.

In the upcoming weeks, Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo will not be available to Liverpool due to their respective national team commitments at the Africa Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup. Even with key players out, Endo is “confident” that Liverpool can maintain the level of play that has propelled them to the top of the Premier League.

Even without Mohamed Salah and himself, Wataru Endo thinks Liverpool will maintain their impressive streak of form over the next month.

Salah is currently in Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, and Endo is about to board a plane to Qatar to lead Japan in the Asian Cup.

The extent to which each side advances determines the likelihood that both players will be out until around the middle of February.

They depart from Liverpool on a high note, as Jurgen Klopp’s squad is presently leading the Premier League following an undefeated streak that began in early October.

In the absence of the injured Alexis Mac Allister, Endo has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success, despite his early struggles to adjust to life in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old, whose stellar play earned him December’s player of the month honors from Liverpool, acknowledged he was conflicted about reporting for national duty.

“Of course I want to stay here but as a national team player it is important for me as I am captain,” stated Endo.

My whole attention is now on the national team, and I want to give it my all. I would prefer to remain in Qatar for the whole of the Asian Cup if I get good results.I can now return my whole attention to the national team now that Macca [Mac Allister] has returned. Absolutely, without a doubt, Liverpool will play well.

My goal is to win the Asian Cup and return with it. Even without Mo and me, I think Liverpool can still win.

In spite of the busy holiday schedule, Endo made many appearances, gushing about how “tough” but “amazing” it was.

“It has been the toughest Christmas and new year in my life but to play football is amazing so I’ve enjoyed it also,” added the player.

I had to keep playing despite the extremely demanding schedule. For my own development, playing the games is paramount. The number of wоunded players is quite high. Because I am a key player for my team, I felt pressure to perform up to my expectations.I feel like I performed a good job as the team played well and I improved my performance compared to earlier. We are presently at the top of the standings. Playing in England has made me feel like I need to be better prepared.Being confident is also important. I am very grateful for the manager’s trust in me. Even the other players have a better grasp of who I am now.

Sunday, January 7, will be the first game for Liverpool without Salah and Endo, as they face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.

They host Bournemouth in their next Premier League match on January 21.
