Turkish club ‘could end Hakim Ziyech’s loan’ following an ιnjury-plagued season

Hakim Ziyech’s loan from Chelsea may be terminated by Galatasaray just five months after the winger had a tough run in the Turkish Suρer Lig.

Ziyech had hoped for a fresh start with the Istanbul club, but he has suffered through a series of minor injuries and has only played nine times this season in the Turkish top league, making six starts and scoring twice.

He’s been ‘ineffective’ and hasn’t scored un 14 appearances across all competitions, though he has scored twice in the Champions League.

Galatasaray are reportedly prepared to terminate the player’s loan and return him to Chelsea, all in the midst of the player’s ongoing strugglе to remain fit this season. He has missed nine games due to injuries sustained in his foot and hamstring.

After earning a spot on Walid Regragui’s 27-man roster for the African Cup of Nations, the 30-year-old’s immediate priorities will be with that tournament.

Ziyech has had a rough year. He was unpopular at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, and Mauricio Pochettino had the same opinion, sending him out on loan.

After Ziyech’s heartbroke January deal with PSG fell through on deadline day due to Chelsea’s improper paperwork, he endured even more misery in February.

Despite starting just six games in the Premier League and one in the Champions League, he managed to play 24 times throughout all competitions, but a lot of those came from the bench.

Ziyech was then almost signed by Al-Nassr, but his knee ιnjury prevented the transaction from going through.

Ziyech has made 107 appearances for the Blues since joining for £34 million from Ajax in 2020, but his starting spot could be in jeopardy if he returns to Stamford Bridge sooner than anticipated.

When he stepped out of the stands to lead a chant in front of his new teammates as an ultra for Galatasaray, it appeared like a promising beginning to his career with the club.

Ziyech, who was seen on the pitch later wearing a Galatasaray shirt and scarf, stood on scaffolding while he directed the crowd.
