Jamie Carragher tells Liverpool they still haven’t replaced Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane’

Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, voiced his displeasure with Luis Diaz’s and Cody Gakpo’s performances.According to Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher, Liverpool should be worried about Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz’s form. On Saturday, in the Premier League matchup between the teams vying for first place, Liverpool and Arsenal fought to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Because of his inconsistent play this season, many analysts have questioned where Gakpo would be best used in Jurgen Klopp’s system. While the Dutch forward is very versatile and has a ton of quality, he sometimes goes unnoticed during games. Prior to his substitution in the 68th minute, Gakpo had a dismal performance against Arsenal.

While all was going on, Diaz was out for most of last season with a knee ιnjury and has yet to fully recover. The kidnapping of his parents was just one of many personal hardships that the Colombian forward has had to endure.

Their Colombian winger is going through a tough time, and the Kopites are worried about his mentаl health.

Upon his safe recovery from the hardship of captivity, Diaz’s father proposed a move to Barcelona in a recent interview. We can’t help but wonder if this is the player’s way of subtly hinting at a future move to a Spanish-speaking country.

According to Carragher, who spoke on the Gary Neville Podcast (via Sky Sports), Liverpool’s оffensive unit is struggling. His words were:

There seems to be a problem with Liverpool’s starting three. This is Cody. After nearly a year on the job, Gakpo has had some success, but not quite enough. Hi there, Luis! Injuries to Diaz’s knees last season have left him looking much smaller than before. Without a strong performance from Diaz in the second half of the season, Liverpool will likely look to address their left back situation in the summer transfer market. It seems like they haven’t found a quality replacement for Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino since they left.

Regardless of Diaz’s current form, Klopp has opted to play the Colombian out on the left wing whenever possible. Diaz failed to impress, in contrast to Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, and the outfielder Diogo Jota, who is presently nursing an ιnjury.

The 26-year-old dribbles instead of passing, giving the impression that he is attempting too much on his own in a team setting. Despite facing repeated dispossessions, he has only contributed five goals and an assist in all competitions thus far.Gakpo, meanwhile, has appeared in 23 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals and assisting on two more. Only two of the Dutchman’s Europa League games this season have gone the whole distance.

According to Carragher, they still haven’t showed the kind of play that Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were capable of. Gakpo is an asset to the club because he rounds out the roster with unique skills and experiences. Nevertheless, the Reds are suffering due to Diaz’s problems and a dearth of players who can provide flare from wide attacking areas.
