Chelsea now have no intention of letting 21-year-old leave the club on loan
According to The Athletic, Chelsea will not approve a loan deal for Noni Madueke in January, despite the fact that he has featured very little for the club this season.Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has given starts to players like Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling this season, despite the winger’s talent.
The rumours about his potential departure from Stamford Bridge have begun to circulate, but Chelsea seemed unwilling to grant him a loan.
Tonight, Pochettino’s team faces Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, thus Madueke might get a rare start.Taking everything into account, it can turn out to be a smart decision. Even if he isn’t in the lineup right now, Madueke is still a very talented winger.
This wide receiver for England’s U21 national team is a master at evading defenders. His Premier League dribbling average of 2.8 per game last season was the best of any Chelsea player (WhoScored). That being said, Chelsea shouldn’t rush into selling Madueke. But the ex-PSV Eindhoven player needs playing time, and he isn’t receiving it at the moment at Stamford Bridge.
Besides Madueke, Pochettino currently prioritizes Sterling and Palmer over Madueke, and another winger ahead of him is Mykhailo Mudryk.
And that is why, come January, Chelsea should consider letting Madueke leave west London on a temporary basis. The club, however, is unwilling to allow him to go on loan to another team for some reason.
