Hold the WDK! The 18-year-old midfielder Bobby Clark has renewed his contract with Liverpool

After leaving Newcastle United’s junior program in the summer of 2021 to join Liverpool, the former prodigy has played twice for Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad.

Last August, Clark came off the bench for Liverpool’s 9-0 Premier League thrashing of Bournemouth, making his first-team debut. Later that season, in an EFL Cup third-round victory over Derby County, he made his first-team debut.

The midfielder is doing well at the Under-21 level and has not appeared in a senior match for the Reds since then; nevertheless, he came off the bench during Wednesday’s 5-1 EFL Cup hammering of West Ham United.

In five games played thus far in the 2023–24 Premier League 2, Clark has tallied two goals and three assists. His most recent goal came in the 90th minute of Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over Chelsea, when he came on as a substitute.

In September, the 18-year-old made his Under-19 debut for England, coming off the bench to play 71 minutes of a 4-2 victory over Switzerland and a second-half cameo in a friendly loss to Germany.

This month, full-back Conor Bradley committed his future to the Reds on December 1, and now Clark has joined him as the second product of Liverpool’s academy to sign a contract extension.

Arsenal and Manchester City were involved in the ‘most valuable’ match of all time

At Wembley Stadium, Mikel Arteta’s team earned early bragging rights in the title figҺt with a penalty shootout victory; the Gunners are now atop the Premier League table as we enter the hectic holiday season.

According to TransferMarkt, Pep Guardiola’s Arsenal team and Liverpool’s previous record-holder from the 2019 edition had a combined squad-worth of almost €1.77 billiоn (£1.53 billiоn).

With Man City’s ownership group’s unwavering support, it’s no wonder records like this keep getting broken. However, in an effort to finally win a trophy after three long years, Arsenal, who made some smart investments over the summer, spent more than £200 million on Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber.

With the additions of Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes, and Jeremy Doku to their roster, City are looking to repeat as champions of the English Premier League and add to the three trophies they won in their historic treble-winning 2022–23 season.

With a price tag of a whopping €180 million (£156 million), Erling Haaland is still considered one of the most expensive players in the world of football, thanks to his spectacular showing last season.Players from England are fetching ever-increasing prices, as evidenced in the case of Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden, all of whom are valued at around €100 million (£86.7 million).

After spending $2.46 billiоn (£1.92 billiоn) in the previous summer, Premier League teams shelled out an eye-watering $2.9 billiоn (£2.36 billiоn) in the 2023 summer transfer window.

It would not be surprising if that record is shattered in the near future, given the high value that teams place on qualifying for tournaments like the UEFA Champions League.
