Even if Chelsea are prepared to accept offers they think are fair for midfielder Conor Gallagher, Tottenham is still hoping to buy him in January

During the summer, Spurs reportedly came close to signing the England international, agreeing to terms to bring him to north London.

Even though there were a lot of changes at Stamford Bridge during the summer, the Blues were able to hold on to the homegrown talent Gallagher thanks to his great start to the season.

The 23-year-old has been an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this season, appearing in 20 games in all competitions; however, Chelsea will sell him to the highest bidder. With just 18 months remaining on his contract, Chelsea plans to trade Gallagher in 2024 (barring a new deal) in order to acquire a striker. They would be open to the idea of doing it in January.

Depending on their other business, Tottenham could make another approach for the midfielder, according to Sky Sports. Their interest in him has not diminished.

The team has been suffering from injuries at center back, with Ben Davies filling in, so Ange Postecoglou has already said that the club wants a center defender in January.

Spurs may have to trade Pierre-Emile Hojberg to make room for a midfielder, since Juventus is interested in the player.

Arsenal ‘leading Chelsea in race for Ivan Toney’

There has been a lot of talk about Toney leaving Brentford, even though he hasn’t played in a competitive match since May.

Several of the Premier League’s most prominent clubs are showing interest in signing Toney as their eight-month penalty for violating betting regulations is about to expire midway through next month.

Technical director Lee Ԁykes of Brentford has acknowledged that the striker may be leaving the club “very shortly” due to rumours circulating about him from clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Gunners are reportedly vying for the signature of the England international, as reported by the Independent.

Even though Chelsea might be Arsenal’s biggest rival, the Blues might have trouble completing a transaction because of Financial Fair Play concerns.

Supposedly, the West London club must clear the roster before they can pursue a transfer for the Brentford striker, whose asking price is expected to be £60 million (with add-ons potentially increasing it to £80 million).

Arsenal is also facing Financial Fair Play issues, but if they are willing to give up on their goal of signing four players in January, a deal might still be doable.

A pair of fullbacks, a midfielder, and a center striker are allegedly on the radar of the Gunners as they prepare to enter the transfer market next month.

For some, Arsenal’s better play this season makes them a more alluring option than Chelsea.

At the moment, Mikel Arteta’s team has a one-point lead in the Premier League, with Chelsea 17 points behind in tenth place.

Arsenal are targeting their first league championship since 2003–04, and they may see Toney as a key player who may help them achieve it.

It is believed that the 27-year-old is enthusiastic about the idea of joining the Premier League leaders. He has scored 68 goals in 124 outings for the Bees.
